ARA is pleased to announce that we have successfully installed two HELIOtubes® as part of ARA’s water treatment solutions using thermal power at the Qarat Al Milh field. These HELIOtubes® mark the core of the world’s pioneering solar-thermal-powered water treatment plant utilizing the Forward Osmosos method for produced water treatment. This results in much lower GHG emissions when compared with conventional methods. The technology uses recyclable inflatable tubes and mirror films to collect and concentrate sunlight which then provides clean industrial process heat in the hard-to-decarbonize mid-temperature range of 90°C to 400°C. This project has completed a significant milestone of 97.5% with no harm to people and no harm to the environment.
