ARA Petroleum Signs MOU to Provide Comprehensive Training for Tanzanian State Energy Personnel

ARA announced today it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to deliver on-the-job training for personnel from the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC), Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (PURA) and the Ministry of Energy. The training program will encompass classroom and hands-on sessions covering Technical, Operations, Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE), as well as Administrative areas.

To ensure the highest quality of training, ARA will leverage its extensive network of affiliates, tailoring the programs to best meet the needs of the candidates. Tanzanian state energy personnel can expect to gain experience of ARA’s onshore oil and gas operations, where an intensive drilling programme has boosted production many-fold in recent years with zero incidents. They will also spend time at ARA’s Muscat office where staff work on a range of initiatives including ARA’s innovative safety, water management and carbon-reduction programmes while running day-to-day activities.

Expressing enthusiasm for the initiative, ARA emphasized its commitment to contributing to the capacity-building efforts for Tanzanian nationals in the Oil & Gas sector. This MOU demonstrates ARA’s dedicated support to enhancing local content in Tanzania.

ARA’s subsidiary, ARA Petroleum Tanzania (APT), is operator of the Ntorya gas field. APT is working closely alongside its Tanzanian counterparts to extract first gas from Ntorya as soon as possible. Following an extensive 3D seismic survey over the area and consequent data processing, ARA assesses Ntorya’s potential to be enormous, requiring a phased development approach.
